Keep the paperwork for a job in the same place as your properties, tools and consolidated sites, so your team can open a project and find everything in one spot.
A project is a saved workspace in Landchecker that stores properties, tools and consolidated sites against a specific job or area. You can attach documents in two places: to the project itself, or to an individual property saved inside that project. Attaching a document keeps supporting paperwork, such as a title, a copy of plans or a company search, alongside the site it relates to instead of in a separate folder or email thread.
Projects and project documents are available to Advanced and Enterprise plan members.
What Can I Attach to a Project or Property?
You can attach the following file types:
PDFs, such as titles, company searches and planning documents.
Word documents, such as file notes, reports and letters.
Images, such as site photos, screenshots and scanned plans.
Should I Attach a Document to the Project or to a Property?
Both options are available on the project details screen, and the choice depends on what the document covers:
Attach to the project when the document relates to the whole job or area, such as a client brief, a feasibility summary or a set of meeting notes covering several sites.
Attach to a property when the document relates to a single address, such as that property’s title, plan of subdivision, or company search.
Documents attached to a property stay with that property inside the project, so anyone opening the project can see which paperwork belongs to which address.
How Do I Attach a Document to a Project?
Click your profile in the navigation bar, then select Projects from the drop-down menu.
Click the name of the project you want to attach a document to. The project details open on the next screen.
Click the paper clip icon beside the project name at the top of the screen.
The Documents panel opens on the right-hand side, showing the project name. Click Upload Document.
Select the file you want to attach from your computer and confirm.
The document appears in the Documents panel with the date it was attached. Before anything is attached, the panel shows the message “Upload documents to your project”.
How Do I Attach a Document to a Property in a Project?
Open the project from your Projects list.
In the Properties table, find the row for the property you want to attach a document to.
Click the paper clip icon in that property’s row.
Click Upload Document.
Select the file you want to attach from your computer and confirm.
The document is attached to that property within the project. Before anything is attached, the property’s document panel shows the message “Upload documents to property”.
How Do I Download a Document?
You can download any document attached to a project or property, including documents attached by another team member.
Open the project, then open the documents for the project or the property, using the relevant paper clip icon.
Find the document you want.
Click the three dots beside the date.
Select Download.
The file downloads to your computer through your browser, in the same way as any other download.
How Do I Delete a Document?
Deleting a document removes it for everyone the project is shared with, so check with your team before removing anything they may still need.
Open the project, then open the documents for the project or the property, using the relevant paper clip icon.
Find the document you want to remove.
Click the three dots beside the date.
Select Delete.
The document is removed from the list. Deleting a document from Landchecker doesn’t affect the original file saved on your computer.
Who Can See the Documents I Attach?
Documents follow the sharing settings of the project they sit in, whether they’re attached to the project or to a property inside it.
If the project isn’t shared, only you can see the documents attached to it.
If the project is shared with your team, every team member on the project can view, download and delete those documents.
Sharing a project after you’ve attached documents gives the team members you add access to those documents as well, so there’s no need to attach them again.
Good to Know
