How to manage consolidated sites saved in a project

Learn how to rename, delete and share consolidated sites saved in your projects.

Written by Airah Oquias

After saving a consolidated site to a project, you can rename it for easier identification, delete it if no longer needed, or share the entire project with team members. This guide shows you how to manage consolidated sites within your projects.

What Happens When You Save a Consolidated Site?

When you save a consolidated site to a project in Landchecker, it is automatically named "Consolidated Site" by default. You can customise this name to something more descriptive, such as the property address or project name, to make it easier to find and identify later.

You can also temporarily hide the site from the map view or permanently delete it when it's no longer needed.

How to Rename, Hide or Delete a Consolidated Site

Renaming a consolidated site helps you organise your projects and quickly identify specific sites when working on multiple developments.

Step 1: Open Your Project

Click the Projects icon in the left-hand side menu. All your existing projects will appear in the layers panel.

Step 2: Navigate to Consolidated Sites

Select the relevant project, then go to the Consolidated Sites tab inside your project to view all saved consolidated sites.

Step 3: Choose Your Action

You have several options for managing your consolidated site:

To Rename a Consolidated Site

  1. Click the three dots (kebab menu) next to the consolidated site name

  2. Choose Rename from the dropdown menu

  3. Enter a clear, descriptive name for your consolidated site. Use specific identifiers such as:

    • Property address (for example, "123-125 Smith Street Development")

    • Project name (for example, "Oakwood Estate Phase 2")

    • Client or development name (for example, "ABC Developments - Brighton Site")

  4. Click Save or press Enter to confirm the new name

Your consolidated site will now appear with the updated name in your project.

To Hide a Consolidated Site

You can temporarily hide a consolidated site from the map view without deleting it:

Option 1: Click the eye icon beside the three-dot menu to quickly hide or show the site

Option 2: Click the three dots (kebab menu) next to the consolidated site name and select Hide from the dropdown menu

Hidden consolidated sites remain saved in your project but are not visible on the map. You can show them again at any time by clicking the eye icon or selecting Show from the menu.

To Delete a Consolidated Site

If you no longer need a consolidated site in your project, you can permanently remove it:

  1. Click the three dots (kebab menu) next to the consolidated site you want to delete

  2. Choose Delete from the dropdown menu

  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear asking you to confirm before the site is permanently deleted

  4. Click Confirm or Delete to permanently remove the consolidated site from your project

Important: Deleting a consolidated site is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you no longer need the site before confirming deletion. If you only need to temporarily remove a site from view, use the Hide function instead.

How to Share a Project Containing Consolidated Sites

Once you have saved consolidated sites in a project, you can share the entire project with team members. When you share a project, team members gain access to all saved consolidated sites, individual properties, notes, markups and documents within that project.

You can share a project in two ways: from the left-hand side projects panel on the map, or from the projects dashboard.

Method 1: Share from the Left-Hand Side Projects Panel

Step 1: Open the Projects Panel

Click the Projects icon in the left-hand side menu. All your existing projects will appear in the layers panel.

Step 2: Access the Project Menu

Click the three dots (kebab menu) beside the project you want to share.

Step 3: Select Share

From the dropdown menu, you will see options to edit, share, archive or delete the project. Select Share.

Step 4: Add Team Members

A pop-up dialogue titled Share Project will appear. From here:

  • Select existing team members from your organization, or

  • Add the email addresses of team members you want to invite

  • Remove any members you no longer want to share the project with

Step 5: Confirm Sharing

Click Share to save all changes and send invitations.

The invited team members will receive an email notification letting them know a project has been shared with them. They can click View Project in the email to instantly open and access the shared project in Landchecker.

Method 2: Share from the Projects Dashboard

Step 1: Access Your Projects Dashboard

Click your profile icon in the top right navigation bar and select Projects.

Step 2: Locate Your Project

In your projects dashboard, find the project that contains your consolidated site.

Step 3: Open the Share Menu

On the right side of the project name, click the three-dot menu and select Share. Alternatively, you can open the project and click the Share button within the project.

What Team Members Can Access in Shared Projects

When you share a project containing consolidated sites, team members can:

  • View all consolidated sites saved in the project

  • Access consolidated site reports

  • View individual properties within consolidated sites

  • See all notes, markups and documents attached to the project

  • Edit the project

Best Practices for Managing Consolidated Sites in Projects

  • Use Descriptive Names

Always rename consolidated sites with clear, specific identifiers that describe the location or purpose.

  • Organise by Project Type

Create separate projects for different development types, stages or clients to keep consolidated sites organised.

  • Share Selectively

Only share projects with team members who need access to the consolidated sites and project information.

  • Regular Cleanup

Periodically review and delete old or unused consolidated sites to keep your projects organised and manageable.

  • Document Your Sites

Add notes to your projects explaining the purpose of each consolidated site or important details about the development.

Accessing Consolidated Sites Across Devices

Projects and consolidated sites sync across all devices where you access Landchecker. Changes you make on desktop will be reflected on your tablet device and vice versa, ensuring your team always has access to the latest project information.
