How to combine sites using Site Consolidation

Site consolidation combines multiple properties to assess total land size and development potential.

Written by Airah Oquias

Site consolidation in Landchecker allows you to select multiple properties and create a combined site. This functionality helps you assess development potential by viewing consolidated property information, including total land size, combined frontage, planning zones and site dimensions.

You can consolidate neighbouring properties to evaluate development opportunities, or select distant properties across Australia to view combined information for an existing asset portfolio.

Who can use this feature: Site consolidation is available for members on Advanced and Enterprise plans. If you're on a different plan and want to use this feature, visit our plans page or request a callback from our team.

How Site Consolidation Works

When you consolidate sites in Landchecker, the platform automatically calculates and displays key property information for your combined site. As you add parcels to your consolidation, you'll see real-time updates showing:

  • Combined land size (total area of all selected properties)

  • Combined frontage measurement (total street frontage)

  • Planning zones affecting the consolidated site

  • Individual lot/plan details for each property

  • Orientation of each parcel

After creating your consolidated site, you can save it to a project for future reference or download a detailed consolidated site report to share with clients or team members.

Step-by-Step Guide to Consolidating Sites

Step 1: Start Your Search

Begin by searching for a property using the address search bar at the top of the Landchecker map. Enter the street address, suburb or property details to locate your first property.

Step 2: Enter Consolidate Mode

After finding your property, click the Consolidate Sites button on the right-hand side panel. Clicking this button activates Consolidate Mode, which allows you to select multiple properties on the map.

Step 3: Select Properties to Consolidate

Click on each property you want to include in your consolidated site. When you select a parcel, it will turn orange on the map, indicating that the property is now part of your consolidated site.

You can select as many properties as needed for your consolidation. Properties can be neighbouring parcels or distant properties located anywhere across Australia.

Step 4: Deselect Properties if Needed

If you accidentally select a property or want to remove a parcel from your consolidation, simply click on the orange parcel again to deselect it. The parcel will return to its original colour on the map.

Step 5: Confirm Your Selection

Once you've finished selecting all the properties you want to consolidate, click the check button (tick icon) in the top-centre of the map. This confirms your consolidated site selection.

Step 6: Review Consolidated Site Information

After confirming your selection, the right-hand side panel updates to display comprehensive details about your consolidated site:

  • Combined land size: Total area of all selected parcels

  • Combined frontage: Total street frontage measurement

  • Planning zones: All planning zones affecting the consolidated site

  • Lot/plan details: Individual lot and plan numbers for each parcel

  • Orientations: Compass orientation for each property

From this panel, you can choose to Save to Project (to access the consolidated site later) or View Report (to download a detailed consolidated site report).

Customising Your Consolidated Site's Appearance

Before confirming your consolidated sites, you can customise how the selected parcels appear on the map by changing the fill colour and stroke colour. This customisation helps you visually differentiate your consolidated site from other properties on the map.

How to Change Fill and Stroke Colours

You can choose colours in three ways:

  1. Use the opacity tool to select a custom shade and adjust transparency

  2. Enter a specific hex code if you have a particular colour in mind

  3. Select from preset standard colours for quick colour selection

After selecting a colour, you can adjust the opacity level. This gives you more control over how prominently your consolidated site appears on the map, making it easier to see underlying map details while still clearly identifying your consolidated parcels.

Managing Site Dimensions Display

As you add properties to your consolidation, Landchecker automatically displays site dimensions on the map, showing measurements of your consolidated site. You have control over how these dimensions appear.

Showing or Hiding Dimensions

To toggle the dimensions display on or off:

  1. Click the three-dot button (⋯) in the action bar

  2. Select the option to show or hide site dimensions

You can also switch between different units of measurement for your consolidated site by choosing between metres or feet.

This flexibility allows you to work in the unit of measurement that best suits your workflow or client requirements.

What Happens After Creating a Consolidated Site

After you create a consolidated site, you have several options for working with your consolidated information:

  • Save to a project: Store your consolidated site in a Landchecker project so you can revisit it later, add notes or share it with team members

  • Download a report: Generate a consolidated site report that includes all property information, planning zones and site dimensions in a professional PDF format

  • Rename or delete: Manage your saved consolidated sites by renaming them for better organisation or deleting sites you no longer need

  • Share with others: Share your consolidated site with colleagues or clients who have access to your Landchecker projects

Getting Access to Site Consolidation
