The Radius setting in Proximity Analysis lets you draw a fixed circular buffer of up to 1,000 metres or 50 kilometres around a selected property. Use it to check planning permits/DAs within a set distance, find nearby listings, or create report images showing proximity to local amenities.

How do I add a radius around a property?
Search for a property using the search bar at the top left of the map.
In the right-hand information panel, scroll down and click Proximity Analysis to expand the section.
Click Radius.
Set your buffer distance by typing a number into the field or dragging the orange circle on the map.
To switch between metres and kilometres, click the m (shown in red) next to the buffer distance field. The radius will update on the map as you adjust the distance.
How Do I Show Places of Interest Within the Radius?
1. With Radius selected in Proximity Analysis, tick Show Nearby Places of Interest.
2. Review the results list on the right, which shows each place of interest inside the buffer together with its distance from the property.
The results list updates automatically whenever you change the Radius distance. On the map, nearby markers are grouped into clusters that show how many places of interest sit in each area.
How Do I Choose Which Places of Interest Appear?
Proximity Analysis shows all place-of-interest categories by default. To narrow the Radius results to the categories you need:
1. Click the Points of Interest icon (a location pin with a centre dot) in the left-hand menu.
2. Toggle on the categories you want to see, such as Education, Health Care, Travel and Transportation, Shopping or Food and Drink.
3. Toggle off any categories you don't need, or use Hide All Places of Interest to clear every marker from the map.
The map and the results list update to show only the categories you've selected within your Radius buffer.
Can I Search for Planning Permits Within a Radius?
Yes, but planning permit searches use a separate Search Radius filter in the Planning Permits/DAs panel, not the Radius setting in Proximity Analysis. Can I switch between metres and kilometres?
No, you no longer need to. Radius now works in a single range from 50 m to 30 km, using the presets, the slider or by dragging the buffer on the map.

Where did the Radius tool go?

What's the difference between Radius and Distance To?
Radius measures a fixed straight-line distance around the property, while Distance To measures a travel-time area by walking, cycling or driving. Use Radius when you need a fixed distance for a report, and Distance To when travel time matters more, such as walkability.
Do I need to show places of interest to use Radius?
No. Radius still draws the buffer on the map on its own. Show Nearby Places of Interest only adds the amenities and their distances.
