How to change unit measurements for completed shapes created with tools

Change distance and area unit measurements for shapes drawn on the map

You can set different unit measurements for distance and area in the Drawing Tools Settings. Any changes you make will apply to all shapes and lines currently displayed on the map.

How do I change the unit of measurement for distance?

To change the distance unit in Drawing Tools:

  1. Click the three dots menu in the Tools panel

  2. Select Settings

  3. Under Distance, select your preferred unit:

  • Metre (m)

  • Kilometre (km)

  • Feet (ft)

  • Yard (yd)

  • Miles (mi)

  • Nautical Miles (nmi)

The new unit will apply to all lines and shapes on the map immediately.

How do I change the unit of measurement for area?

To change the area unit in Drawing Tools:

  1. Click the three dots menu in the Tools panel

  2. Select Settings

  3. Under Area, select your preferred unit:

  • Metre (m²)

  • Kilometre (km²)

  • Feet (ft²)

  • Yard (yd²)

  • Miles (mi²)

  • Acre

  • Hectare

The new unit will apply to all shapes on the map immediately.
