You can measure a site's area and perimeter using three drawing tools on the right-hand side toolbar: the Any Shape tool, the Rectangle tool, and the Circle tool. Choose the tool that best matches the shape you need to measure.

How do I draw a polygon to measure an irregular area?
Search for a property using the address search bar.
Select the Any Shape tool on the right-hand side toolbar.
Click along the outside boundary of the area to place each point.
Double-click the last point to complete the shape and save the measurement.

How do I use the Rectangle tool to measure area?
Search for a property using the address search bar.
Select the Rectangle tool on the right-hand side toolbar.
Click and drag to draw one side of the rectangle, then drag your mouse to the opposite side to complete the shape.
To download an image of your map view with measurements included, select Export current map view on the toolbar. A PNG file will download automatically to your device.
Can I add points to a shape after drawing it?
Yes. After drawing a shape with the Any Shape tool or the Rectangle tool, you can add new points to its outline without redrawing it from scratch.
Hover over the outline of the polygon or rectangle you want to adjust. A midpoint marker will appear on each edge.
Click and drag a midpoint to add a new vertex at that location, reshaping the outline as you drag.
Release the mouse to set the new point. Your area and perimeter measurements will update automatically.
How do I snap a shape to a property boundary?
Snapping locks the points you place onto the nearest property boundary, so your shape follows the parcel line without you needing to click exactly on it.
Select the magnet icon beside the draw mode chip at the top centre of the map to turn snapping on.
Select the Any Shape tool or the Rectangle tool on the right-hand side toolbar.
Move your cursor close to the property boundary. Click to place each point – it will lock onto the boundary as you go.
Double-click the last point to complete the shape. Your area and perimeter measurements will update automatically.
To place points freely again, select the magnet icon a second time to turn snapping off.
Snapping is not available with the Circle tool. A circle is drawn from a centre point and a radius, so its outline cannot follow a boundary line. To measure a circular area against a boundary, use the Any Shape tool with snapping on instead.

Search for a property using the address search bar.
Select the Circle tool on the right-hand side toolbar.
Click and drag on the map to draw the circle. Click and drag any point on the circle to adjust its size.

Plan access: All paid plan members can use the drawing tools to measure area and perimeter. Advanced and Enterprise plan members can also customise shapes — including colour, opacity, labelling, and unit of measurement. Free (Starter) plan members do not have access to the drawing tools.
