How to change a tool's fill colour, stroke and opacity

Adjust the fill colour, stroke colour, opacity and stroke weight of drawing tool shapes and markups.

Written by Airah Oquias

After drawing a shape, line or text label on the map, you can adjust its display attributes — including fill colour, stroke colour, opacity and stroke weight — using the Tools panel on the left-hand side of the platform.

Colour and stroke customisation is available on Advanced and Enterprise plans.

How do I edit the fill and stroke colour of a shape or markup?

There are three ways to select a colour:

  • Choose a custom shade using the gradient tool

  • Enter a hex code manually

  • Select one of the standard preset colours

The colour options available depend on the type of markup:

Line or multi-path line

To set the fill opacity to zero on a polygon, rectangle or circle, drag the opacity slider to 0. This removes the fill entirely, leaving only the outline visible.

How do I change the fill or stroke colour of a markup?

  1. Use the address search bar to locate the property or area.

  2. Select a drawing tool from the right-hand side toolbar and draw your shape, line or text label on the map.

  3. Click the fill and stroke options on the action bar.

If you're editing from the left-hand side Tools panel, select the markup you want to edit.

  4. Click Fill to change the fill colour, or Stroke to change the outline colour.

  5. Select your colour using the gradient tool, hex code input, or preset colour options.

How do I change the stroke weight of a shape or line?

Stroke weight controls the thickness of a shape's outline or a line. The available range is 1 to 10 points.

  1. Select the shape or line you want to edit in the Tools panel.

  2. In the Stroke weight section, click the value you want to apply.

You can also use the up/down or left/right arrow keys to adjust the stroke weight in incremental steps.
