You can customise your Landchecker experience by setting preferences for your individual account or, if you're an admin, for your entire organisation. These preferences control map settings, document delivery, search defaults, and branding options.
Who this article is for
This guide is for all Landchecker users who want to personalise their account settings. Organisation admins can also use this guide to set company-wide preferences that apply to all team members.
Two types of preferences: My Account vs Business Account
Landchecker offers two levels of preferences depending on your role:
My Account preferences – Personal settings that only affect your individual account and don't impact other team members
Business Account preferences – Organisation-wide settings that can only be changed by admins and apply to everyone in your company's Landchecker account
How to set My Account preferences (individual settings)
These preferences apply only to your personal account and won't affect your team members.
Accessing My Account preferences
Open your account settings: Click on your Profile in the top right corner and select My Account
Navigate to Preferences: Click on the Preferences tab to view your personal settings
My Account preferences you can customise
Map and search preferences:
Default map location: Right-click on the map at your preferred location and click Save to open Landchecker at this location every time you start a new session
Document delivery method: Click the dropdown menu and choose how you want to receive document order notifications:
Send a separate email for each order item
Send one email including all order items
Send no email and notify me for each order item with an in-app notification
Job reference autofill: Check the box to automatically populate job reference fields when you search or click on a new property
Default state for document searches: Select your preferred Australian state from the dropdown menus for both title searches and standard searches. This pre-selects your state each time you order documents.
Default high-resolution aerial imagery layers: Choose whether to display roads, places, and property boundaries on your map view by default
How to set Business Account preferences (organisation settings)
Business Account preferences can only be changed by organisation admins and apply to all team members in your company's Landchecker account.
Accessing Business Account preferences
Open your business settings: Click on your Profile in the top right corner and select Business Account
Navigate to Preferences: Click on the Preferences tab to view organisation-wide settings
Business Account preferences admins can customise
Account Details and branding:
Under the Account Details tab in Business Account, admins can configure:
Company logo: Upload a logo to brand your PDF property reports (recommended size: 400x50 pixels, jpg or png format). Your logo will be resized, cropped, and centred to fit these dimensions.
Job references:
Make job references mandatory: Check this box if you want to require all team members to enter a job reference before making any purchase
Document searches - Custom file naming conventions:
Choose your preferred file naming convention for downloaded documents. This setting applies to all members within your organisation.
Available naming convention options:
[description]-[product]-[product ID][product]_[product ID][product]_[product ID]_[ddmmyyyy][job_reference]_[product][job reference]_[product]_[product_ID]
Preview example: 49-51-Stead-Street-South-Melbourne-Vic-3205-Register-Search-Statement-(Title)-Volume-11111-Folio-333.pdf
This naming convention helps keep your documents organised and makes it easier to identify files based on your team's workflow.
Remember to click Save Changes after updating your Business Account preferences.
Understanding the difference between My Account and Business Account preferences
My Account preferences are personal to you and can be changed at any time without affecting your team
Business Account preferences require admin permissions and impact everyone in your organisation
If you're part of an organisation, some settings (like file naming conventions and mandatory job references) will be controlled by your admin and cannot be changed individually
Need help?
If your preferences aren't saving or applying correctly, make sure you click the Save Changes button after making updates. If you're an admin and need to transfer permissions or manage organisation settings, contact Landchecker support for assistance.
