NSW Plan documents (also called Copy of Plans or Deposited Plans) show the legal boundaries, dimensions, and survey information for properties in New South Wales. You can purchase NSW Plan documents in Landchecker using three different methods: directly from the map, through the Title Search page, or through Standard Searches.
What is an NSW Plan document?
An NSW Plan document is a registered survey plan that shows the boundaries, dimensions, lot numbers, and other survey details for a property. These plans are registered with NSW Land Registry Services and are essential for understanding property boundaries, easements, and lot configurations.
What information do you need to purchase an NSW Plan?
Depending on which search method you use, you can purchase an NSW Plan using:
Property address
Lot and Plan number (for example, Lot 5 DP828461)
Title reference
Plan number only (for example, DP828461)
The Plan number can be found in the NSW title document under the land description section.
Method 1: Purchase an NSW Plan from the map
Search for your property address in the map search bar at the top left corner
Click on the property to open the right-hand side information panel
Select the Documents tab in the panel
Enter your job reference (if applicable)
Tick the checkbox next to NSW Plan
Click Add item to cart
Click the shopping cart icon in the top navigation bar
Select View Cart to review your order, or select Purchase to proceed directly to checkout
If you selected View Cart, review your order and click Go To Checkout
Review your delivery method and payment method, then click Buy
Method 2: Purchase an NSW Plan through Title Search
Click Document Searches in the top navigation bar
Click the Title Search tab
Enter your job reference
Select NSW as your state, then click Next
Choose how you want to search from the dropdown menu:
Address - search using the property address
Lot/Plan - search using lot and plan numbers
Title Reference - search using the title reference number
Enter your search details and click Search
Tick the checkbox next to NSW Plan
Click Add selected items to shopping cart
Click the shopping cart icon in the top navigation bar
Select View Cart to review your order, or select Purchase to proceed directly to checkout
If you selected View Cart, review your order and click Go To Checkout
Review your delivery method and payment method, then click Buy
Method 3: Purchase an NSW Plan through Standard Searches
This method is useful when you already know the Plan number and want to search directly without looking up the property first.
Click Document Searches in the top navigation bar
Click the Standard Searches tab
Select NSW as your state, then click Next
Enter your job reference
Find and click on NSW Plan to expand the dropdown
Enter the Plan Number in the text box (for example, DP828461)
To order multiple dealings at once: Enter multiple dealing numbers separated by commas (for example, AS5061231, DP828461)
Click +Add to Cart
Click the shopping cart icon in the top navigation bar
Select View Cart to review your order, or select Purchase to proceed directly to checkout
If you selected View Cart, review your order and click Go To Checkout
Review your delivery method and payment method, then click Buy
How to format NSW Plan numbers
When entering a Plan number, include the plan type prefix followed by the number with no spaces. Common NSW plan types include:
DP - Deposited Plan (for example, DP828461)
SP - Strata Plan (for example, SP12345)
CP - Community Plan (for example, CP67890)
