How to add order reference or security number of previous title and plan purchases

Order certificates seamlessly on Landchecker

Written by Georgie Edgerton

If you’ve already purchased a Title (Register Search Statement) or Copy of Plan for a property, you don’t need to buy it again. When you select a certificate that requires a Title or Copy of Plan, Landchecker checks your previous orders and auto-populates the Order Reference for you, so there’s nothing to look up or paste in. Landchecker then verifies the reference and skips the charge for that document.

If an Order Reference doesn’t auto-populate, you can still add one yourself, or use the Security Number printed on a Title you already hold.

Step 1: Order Your Certificates

  1. Via the Certificates tab, search for your property using the chosen property identifier

  2. Select the certificates you need. If a certificate requires a Title or Copy of Plan, that document is selected automatically and Landchecker checks your previous orders for the property

  3. Deselect the Title and/or Copy of Plan you’ve already purchased in a previous order

  4. Deselecting brings up an Additional Information section. If Landchecker found a matching previous order, the Order Reference is already filled in for the Title and the Copy of Plan – check the value looks right and leave it as it is

  5. If a field is empty, add the reference yourself using Step 2 below

  6. Complete any other required details

  7. Select Add selected items to shopping cart – Landchecker verifies the reference and adds the order to your cart

Step 2: Add an Order Reference or Security Number Yourself

If the Order Reference field is empty, or you want to use a different order, you can enter the details manually.

Order Reference (Titles and Copy of Plans):

  1. Apply filters (for example, Job Reference) to find the previous order

  2. Select View More on the Register Search Statement (Title) or Copy of Plan line item

  3. Copy the Order Reference shown on the left-hand side (e.g. 9B3BD80832)

  4. Paste the Order Reference into the Additional Information section of your new order

Tip: The Order Reference also appears in the subject line of the email that delivered your documents, so you can find it in your inbox if you don’t have access to Order Manager.

Security Number (Titles only):

Titles include a Security Number located to the right of the volume and folio number on the document itself. If you have the Title document on hand, choose Security Number instead of Order Reference in the Additional Information section and enter the value.

Please Note

  • Documents must have been ordered through Landchecker within the last 120 days for the Order Reference to be valid. Orders older than this won’t auto-populate

  • An Order Reference can only be used by the member who placed the original order, not by other members in your organisation. If a colleague ordered the document, nothing will auto-populate for you
