A land information certificate summarises rates, charges, valuations, and any monies owing on a property, along with any orders or notices issued under the Local Government Act 1989 or relevant local laws. It is commonly required during property settlement.
You can purchase this certificate through Document Searches under the Certificate Searches tab. Note that delivery times vary depending on the issuing council.
Plan access: Available to users on a paid Landchecker plan.
How do I purchase a land information certificate in Victoria?
Select Document Searches in the navigation bar.
Select Certificate Searches.
Select State — VIC, then select Next.
Select a property identifier from the Search By dropdown, then select Search. Property identifiers include:
Enter a job reference if applicable.
Scroll down to the Certificates section.
Tick the checkbox next to Land Information Certificate.
Select Add selected items to shopping cart.
Select the shopping cart icon in the navigation bar.
Select View Cart to review your order, or Purchase to proceed directly to checkout.
If you selected View Cart, confirm your order is correct, then select Go To Checkout.
Confirm your Delivery method and Payment method, then select Buy.
Once your order is placed, delivery times vary by council. As a guide, City of Maribyrnong has an estimated delivery time of 10 days and Greater Geelong has an estimated delivery time of 7 days. If your certificate has not arrived by the estimated date, refer to the article on how to follow up on documents past their estimated delivery date.
Will any additional documents be added to my order automatically?
In some cases, a copy of the Register Search Statement (Title) and/or a Copy of Plan may be required alongside a land information certificate. If so, these documents will be added to your cart automatically before checkout.
