Elsie remembers who you are and how you like to work, so you get tailored answers without repeating yourself in every chat. Use the Manage Memory screen to see what Elsie has saved, edit your profile, reference past conversations and turn memory on or off.
What Is Elsie's Memory and Personalisation?
Elsie's memory and personalisation functionality lets Elsie recall details about you and your past conversations, so its answers are tailored to how you work without you having to re-explain your context each time. There are two levels of memory:
Your Memory – a personal profile and a set of saved memory entries tied to your own account. Only you can see and manage these.
Business Account Memory – a shared business profile that applies Elsie's responses across your whole team.
NOTE: Editing Business Account Memory is limited to account admins or open to all team members. Both are managed from the same Elsie settings area, under separate tabs.
How Does Elsie Use My Memory Automatically?
After you save a profile or Elsie saves a memory entry from a conversation, Elsie applies that information automatically in new chats. This means you don't need to remind Elsie of your preferred name, occupation, answer style or any other saved context. Elsie carries this forward every time you start a new conversation, until you edit or delete it from the Manage Memory screen.
How Do I Open Manage Memory?
Open the Elsie panel from the property information view.
Click Settings within the Elsie panel.
Select the Your Memory tab.
Click Manage Memory.
The Manage Memory screen opens, showing your memory toggles, your profile, and a link to your saved memory entries.
How Do I Turn Memory On or Off?
The Manage Memory screen shows two toggles, each with a one-line description of what it controls:
Save & Use Memories – controls whether Elsie saves new memory entries from your conversations and uses your existing saved entries and profile to tailor its answers.
Reference Past Chats – controls whether Elsie can look back at your previous conversations when you refer to them in a new chat.
Turning either toggle off stops that behaviour going forward, but does not delete any profile details or memory entries you've already saved. You can turn a toggle back on at any time to resume that behaviour, with your existing data intact.
How Do I Edit My Profile?
Your profile tells Elsie the basics of how you'd like it to respond, so you don't need to repeat this in every chat.
On the Manage Memory screen, go to the profile section.
Enter or update your preferred name.
Enter or update your occupation.
Choose your preferred answer style, which sets how much detail Elsie gives by default: Fast, Balanced or In-depth.
Add anything else you'd like Elsie to know in the free-text field.
Click Save Changes.
Elsie applies your updated profile from your next message onward.
How Do I Reference a Past Conversation?
Instead of scrolling back through your chat history, you can ask Elsie about a previous conversation in plain language, for example by describing the property, topic or approximate timing you discussed.
When Elsie identifies a matching conversation, Elsie responds with a View Chat link. Click View Chat to open that past conversation directly.
Elsie can only find and reference past conversations while the Reference Past Chats toggle is switched on.
How Do I View and Manage My Saved Memories?
Elsie saves memory entries from your conversations over time, such as details you've told it about your work or preferences. You can review and manage these at any point.
On the Manage Memory screen, click Manage Saved Memories.
A list of your saved memory entries opens, each shown with a relative timestamp, such as how long ago it was saved.
Use the search field to find a specific entry.
Use the sort option to order the list by Recent or Oldest.
To delete a single entry, select it and choose Delete. The entry is removed immediately and Elsie confirms the deletion. To remove everything at once, open the overflow menu and select Delete All.
If you haven't saved any memory entries yet, or you've deleted them all, the list shows an empty state instead of a table.
What Is Business Account Memory?
Business Account Memory lets your firm set instructions that apply to every team member's conversations with Elsie, rather than each person configuring their own profile individually.
Open the Elsie panel and click Settings.
Select the Business Account Memory tab.
In the business profile field, enter the instructions you want Elsie to follow for your whole team, such as your firm's preferred spelling and tone, how Elsie should cite data sources or how reports should be structured.
Click Save Changes.
Once saved, Elsie follows these instructions across every team member's chats, in addition to each member's own personal profile and saved memories.

Real Estate Agents – Set your answer style to Fast and save your usual reporting preferences once, so every property lookup comes back formatted the way you need for a listing or appraisal.
Property Developers – Save your occupation and current project context so Elsie tailors zoning, permit and feasibility answers to development work without you restating the brief each time.
Valuers – Use Business Account Memory to standardise how Elsie cites data sources and structures report sections across your whole valuation team.
Legal Professionals and Conveyancers – Reference a past conversation about a specific property to pick up exactly where you left off, instead of re-searching your chat history.
Architects and Town Planners – Save your preferred answer style as In-depth to get more detailed planning and zoning explanations by default, without adjusting it in every chat.
Common Questions
Does turning off a memory toggle delete my saved data?
No. Turning off Save & Use Memories or Reference Past Chats only stops that behaviour going forward. Your profile and saved memory entries stay stored until you delete them yourself from the Manage Memory screen.
Can other team members see my personal memory?
No. Your Memory, including your profile and saved memory entries, is tied to your own account and isn't visible to other team members. Business Account Memory is the shared, firm-wide layer that applies across the team.
What happens if I delete all my saved memories?
Elsie stops using any previously saved memory entries in new chats, and the Manage Saved Memories list shows an empty state. Your profile details, such as preferred name and answer style, are separate and aren't affected unless you edit or clear them yourself.
How do I change my answer style?
Open Manage Memory, go to the profile section, choose Fast, Balanced or In-depth under answer style, and click Save Changes.
