How to turn on roads, footpaths, places and parcel labels

Display roads, footpaths, street numbers and lot details on the map.

Written by Airah Oquias

Add context to the map by displaying roads, footpaths, street numbers, suburb names and lot details.

These layers are available via Common Layers and can be toggled on or off at any time. They are particularly useful when viewing properties in high-resolution aerial imagery, where roads and labels are hidden by default.

How do I turn on these layers?

To display any of these layers on the map:

  1. Search for a property using the address search bar.

  2. Open Common Layers in the left-hand side panel.

  3. Toggle on any of the following layers:

  • Roads — displays a transparent overlay showing roads and street names across the map.

  • Footpaths — displays footpath routes to help assess pedestrian access and connectivity around a property.

  • Places — displays street numbers and suburb names on the map.

  • Parcel Labels — displays the lot and plan number for each property directly on the map.

To remove any layer, toggle it off in the same way.

How do I set these layers to display by default in aerial imagery view?

By default, these layers are hidden when you switch to high-resolution aerial imagery. To set them to display automatically:

  1. Go to My Account and select Preferences.

  2. Scroll down to Default High-Resolution Aerial Imagery Layers.

  3. Tick the checkbox for the layers you want to display by default.

  4. Click Save Changes.
