Take a screencapture or download a high-res image of your property.

Export aerial images and map views directly from Landchecker to use in reports, client presentations, and marketing materials.

What is the difference between export high-res image and export current map view?

These are two separate export features that serve different purposes. Export high-res image produces a high-quality aerial photograph of a selected area — ideal for site assessments and client deliverables. Export current map view takes a screenshot of your current map, including any planning layers, zones, overlays, datasets, measurements, or mark-ups you have active. Each feature is available on different plan types.

Which plans include the export features?

Export high-res image is available on Advanced and Enterprise plans only. Export current map view is available on Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans. If you are on a free plan, you will need to upgrade to access either feature.

How do I export a high-res aerial image?

To export a high-res image, follow these steps:

  1. Search for a property using the address search bar on the map.

  2. Turn on high-resolution aerial imagery by selecting it from Map Type in the bottom left corner.

  3. Click the Export High-Res Image button in the right-hand toolbar.

  4. Click Select an Area to Export.

  5. Click the first point to start your selection, then click a second point to complete it.

  6. Review the colour indicator to check the image quality for your selected area:

    • Green = high quality

    • Yellow = medium quality

    • Red = low quality — consider reducing the selected area to improve quality.

  7. Select your preferred image format: JPEG or PNG.

  8. If you need a georeferenced file, select the georeferenced option. You will receive the image file along with a world file and a projection file, which can be imported into a GIS application.

  9. Click Submit.

Landchecker will process your export request. This typically takes a few minutes. Once complete, you will receive an email with a download link. Download and save the image as soon as possible — the link expires after 15 days.

How do I export my current map view?

To export your current map view, follow these steps:

  1. Search for a property using the address search bar.

  2. Set up your map with any planning layers, zones, overlays, datasets, measurements, or mark-ups you want to include in the export.

  3. Click the Export Current Map View button in the right-hand toolbar.

  4. The image will automatically download to your device as a PNG file.

The export captures exactly what is visible on your screen, including all active layers and annotations.

Why is my exported image showing low quality (red indicator)?

Image quality decreases when a larger area is selected for export. If the quality indicator is showing red or yellow, try reducing the size of your selected area. Selecting a smaller, more focused area will generally produce a higher-quality image.

Can I use exported images in GIS software?

Yes. When exporting a high-res image, select the georeferenced option before submitting. This provides three files: the image itself, a world file, and a projection file. These files can be imported into GIS applications for further use.
